Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations on a temporary assignment. You will process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for hourly and salaried staff, ensure data accuracy, and maintain employee records while adhering to federal, state, and local regulations.

You will collaborate with HR and Finance, handle garnishments and tax notices, reconcile reports, and assist with audits and month-end activities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience in a high-volume environment.
• Knowledge of federal and state payroll laws and payroll tax compliance.
• Experience with multiple payroll systems (ADP, Workday, UKG, SAP or similar).

Responsibilities

• Process bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls for hourly and salaried employees.
• Review payroll data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies before submission.
• Maintain employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, status changes, deductions).
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations including multi-state requirements.
• Handle garnishments, wage attachments, tax notices, and payroll inquiries.
• Reconcile payroll reports, earnings, deductions, and benefits withholdings.
• Support payroll audits and assist with month-end reporting activities.
• Generate payroll-related reports and provide data to HR, Finance, and management.
• Collaborate with HR regarding employee transactions impacting payroll.
• Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and special projects.
