Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Coordinator to support our Payroll Benefits Administrator and HR/Payroll Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in payroll and human resources.
The Payroll Coordinator will assist with payroll processing, data entry, auditing payroll information for accuracy, and ensuring payroll-related tasks are completed on schedule. This position plays a key role in supporting our bi-weekly payroll process and maintaining accurate employee records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Enter and maintain payroll data accurately and efficiently.
- Review employee timekeeping records for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist with payroll audits and verification of payroll information prior to processing.
- Ensure payroll tasks and deadlines are completed according to established schedules.
- Support the Payroll Benefits Administrator with benefits-related data entry and record maintenance.
- Assist the HR/Payroll Manager with payroll reporting and administrative tasks.
- Maintain employee payroll records and confidential information.
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional manner.
- Assist with new hire, termination, and employee status change processing.
- Support payroll compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Provide administrative support for payroll and HR projects as assigned.
Payroll Schedule Expectations
- Payroll Mondays (payroll review, auditing, and processing support)
- Payday Fridays (final verification, reporting, employee support, and issue resolution)
Requirements
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred
- Previous administrative, accounting, HR, or payroll experience.
- Experience with payroll systems or HRIS software.
- Associate's degree in business, accounting, human resources, or related field.
