The role involves calculating and recording deductions, tracking hours, producing reports, and ensuring adherence to company policies and federal/state requirements. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with an associate degree preferred, and relevant payroll experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience processing payroll with accuracy and compliance.
  • Familiarity with federal and state payroll laws.
  • Ability to prepare periodic payroll reports.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process paychecks on time.
  • Process wage garnishments and direct deposits for all employees as needed.
  • Assist in processing W-2 forms for all employees at the end of each calendar year.
  • Perform account balance and payroll reconciliations.
  • Prepare periodic payroll reports and other complex documents for review as requested.
  • Enter payroll data into systems to keep all payroll files up to date.
  • Prepare financial reports for accounting and auditing purposes.
  • Maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions.
  • Develop and maintain payroll processes and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Keep all payroll information confidential and maintain privacy for employees.
  • Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing

Job description

Summary

The Payroll Administrator position requires an accommodating and analytical person who produces highly precise, accurate work. This person helps the Payroll Manager with all tasks, including tracking employee hours, calculating and recording deductions, preparing reports and other complex documents, and processing payroll. The Payroll Administrator is responsible for various aspects of the payroll process in accordance with federal and state laws as well as the policies and procedures outlined by B&D. To be successful in the role, this person must also be willing to investigate and resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance with company and regulatory procedures and standards.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED
