Job summary

Hurricane Island Outward Bound is seeking an Accounting Associate to support financial operations, payroll, and HR administration in a hybrid Camden, Maine office. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience with multiple accounting platforms.

Preferred candidates have at least four years in accounting or payroll, familiarity with Salesforce, and the ability to manage onboarding/offboarding for seasonal staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of accounting, payroll, or benefits administration experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience using Salesforce.
• Experience with QBO or Accounting Seed is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process full payroll cycle, verify timesheets, manage distribution and quarterly tax reporting reconciliations.
• Administer onboarding/offboarding for seasonal staff across internal systems.
• Oversee accounts payable and vendor payment processing with correct coding.
• Maintain payroll and HR records with strict confidentiality and accuracy.
