Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a municipal payroll and accounts payable professional to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll, vendor payments, and regulatory compliance for city operations.

Under general supervision, the role covers payroll tax documentation, reconciliations, responding to employee inquiries, and supporting financial reporting, audits, and closing activities with Tyler Technologies ERP Pro 10.

Qualifications

• At least four years of experience in payroll administration, accounts payable, or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance may be considered.
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days of hire, a valid Texas Driver License and be eligible for coverage under the City's vehicle insurance provider.

Responsibilities

• Process accurate and timely bi-weekly payroll and perform accounts payable functions.
• Review payroll calculations, prepare payroll tax documentation, and reconcile payroll accounts.
• Review and process vendor invoices, prepare payments, reconcile vendor accounts, and resolve payment discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate transaction documentation and support financial reporting, closing activities, and audits.
