Job summary

Michael Page is seeking a VP of Payroll in New York City to lead end-to-end payroll processing semi-monthly and off-cycle runs. You will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee reporting, and drive process improvements while supporting a payroll team.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in payroll operations and 2+ years in Workday, with strong knowledge of regulations and a detail-oriented, analytical approach. Onsite in Manhattan 4 days/week, with 1 day of hybrid flexibility.

A financial services company based in New York City is seeking a VP of Payroll to manage end-to-end payroll semi-monthly and off-cycle processing for the company, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, confirming tax, garnishment, and benefit deduction accuracy, overseeing payroll reporting and reconciliation processes, handling payroll audits and resolving discrepancies efficiently, implementing improvements to payroll systems and processes as needed, providing guidance and support to team members regarding payroll inquiries, and staying updated on payroll laws and adapting processes accordingly.

The successful applicant should have 5+ years of prior experience with payroll operations, with 2+ years within the Workday platform required. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations is necessary, along with a proven background in managing ad-hoc and off-cycle payroll processing. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, and the ability to work onsite in Manhattan 4 days per week are also required.
