Coinbase is seeking a Payments Risk Analyst II on the Risk & Fraud team within the Consumer & Business group. You will own the identification and mitigation of fraud risk across Coinbase's fiat payment rails, protecting the company's bottom line and millions of customers without degrading the user experience.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in risk, fraud, or payments operations.
• 2+ years SQL analytics across large datasets.
• Experience with identity-provider data and fraud-detection tooling.
• Ability to measure financial impact of fraud decisions and communicate findings.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end risk controls for ACH payments and scale fraud prevention as the business grows.
• Drive detection and mitigation of fraudulent deposit activity; apply targeting logic against bad actors.
• Lead quantitative analysis of fraud performance; surface tradeoffs to leadership with data-backed recommendations.
• Partner with Product, Growth, Data Science, Risk ML, and Engineering to evolve risk controls from heuristic rules to model-driven approaches.
• Execute investigations into anomalous customer and transaction behavior and close monitoring gaps before losses occur.
