Job summary

Security Service Federal Credit Union is seeking a Payment Operations Specialist to manage payment processing, exception handling, and disputes across Zelle, RDC, ATM, and check channels. You will coordinate with Risk Management and Branch Operations to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in payment operations, NACHA knowledge, and strong analytical skills. Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required. Relevant certifications, coursework, or continued education related to payment operations or financial services.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a financial institution environment performing payment operations, exception processing, dispute resolution, or transaction reconciliation functions.
• Familiar with NACHA rules and regulations and understanding of regulations CC, D, E, Z, and J.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Visio) and basic understanding of workflow concepts and process methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem solving abilities; excellent attention to detail; effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process and balance a wide range of payment activities including check processing, RDC, image-enabled ATM transactions, shared branching, Zelle, and exception processing.
• Research, analyze, and resolve payment exceptions, disputes, returns, and non-posted items, coordinating with Risk Management as needed.
• Perform end-to-end processing for domestic and foreign collections, large return items, and related operations; ensure regulatory compliance and data integrity.
• Perform balancing, reconciliations, and general ledger validations; resolve suspense accounts and support outage recovery.
