The Clearing House in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Payments Operations Specialist to support product and service delivery, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and timely on a 24/7 schedule. The role requires experience in banking/financial institutions, mainframe and Windows distributed systems, and deep knowledge of clearing and settlement.

The position involves weekend hours and potential overtime, with a focus on regulatory compliance and customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business-related field or 5+ years of practical work experience.
• Experience in Banking or Financial institutions.
• Available to provide coverage and work weekends.
• Experience in a Mainframe and Windows Distributed Systems environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing time sensitive priorities.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure firm policies and regulatory requirements are met.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (establish rapport with customers).
• Strong knowledge of clearing and settlement functions.
• Operations background with knowledge of trade processing, settlement, reporting and regulatory rules.
• Maintain formal operations and procedural documentation.
• Banking systems background in batch and/or real-time processing.
• Working knowledge of credit/debit cards and EMV.
• Apply knowledge of banking and EFT payments systems to assist clients.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, and Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Execute all bank settlements and cut-offs.
• Respond to inquiries for NACHA and ECCHO standards.
• Execute scheduled activities to meet critical time-tables.
• Provide functional support for all in-house applications.
• Respond to settlement inquiries for CHIPS, ACH, SVPCO, and RTP.
• Review & maintain procedural documentation.
• Escalate issues on internal tracking system.
• Support weekend testing when assigned.
• Maintain industry certificates.
• Execute monthly reporting for management and customers.
• Assist in ad hoc projects and new product launches.
