Sierra is seeking a senior backend/platform engineer to design and operate highly reliable systems. You will work across payments, security, real-time voice, and LLM workloads, building secure, low‑latency components in production. You’ll own end-to-end delivery and collaborate across Platform, Product, and Safety teams in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes Go proficiency, deep security instincts, and a track record of shipping robust infrastructure with strong on-call discipline.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building backend, platform, or infrastructure systems in production.
• Deep security instinct; design for compromise and least privilege.
• Rigor in correctness under failure: retries, idempotency, timeouts.
• Fluency in Go; ownership of critical systems end-to-end.
• Strong communication to explain designs and risks to teams and non-engineers.
• CS degree or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate high‑reliability backend services in production.
