Job summary

Global Payments is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Enterprise Data Platform Engineering Team and help build the Operational Data Store that powers real-time payments experiences and fraud prevention.

You will shape technology strategy, influence architectural decisions, and translate proof-of-concept work into a production-ready platform supporting millions of transactions across the enterprise. This is a hands-on, high-impact role.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems in production.
• Hands-on with distributed NoSQL databases and data-serving platforms.
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience automating infrastructure using IaC, CI/CD, and cloud-native technologies.
• Collaborative, ownership-driven mindset to influence decisions across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver core platform capabilities enabling low-latency access to operational data.
• Optimize read-path latency, scale, and resiliency for high availability.
• Automate tenant provisioning, governance controls, and operational workflows.
• Guide technology strategy and establish engineering standards for enterprise platform.
• Build observability, resiliency, and recovery capabilities.
