Job summary

SWBC is hiring a Payment Protection Claims Processor to determine coverage, process claims payments, and support Claims Examiners. The role includes handling claim inquiries, preparing files, and coordinating with financial institutions and carriers. The ideal candidate has strong analytical and communication skills and proficiency in Word and Excel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required
• Some college coursework in medical terminology is preferred
• Minimum two years of analytical/general office experience
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient in Word and Excel

Responsibilities

• Receives new and continuing claims, determines coverage under Payment Protection, and prepares/disburses files to Examiners.
• Creates claim payments in the system and balances carrier transactions to ensure accurate payments.
• Takes incoming calls from claimants, financial institutions, and carriers and documents interactions in the claims system.
• Requests missing information to establish new claims from claimants and financial institutions.
• Creates new template letters and updates existing ones.
• Tests new account setups for ACH claim payments and updates to live systems.
• Trains new Payment Protection Processor I as needed.
