Job description

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to investigate, evaluate, and negotiate auto claims, CPI and GAP, to determine the extent of liability by interpreting and calculating settlements. The role involves issuing settlement payments to the Named Insured, managing disposition and settlement of claims, and responding to inquiries for multiple lines of business and complex coverage types.

Responsibilities

• Gather and assemble pertinent claim information by contacting lenders, auto dealers, borrowers, and/or agents.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of documentation for processing.
• Calculate claim proceeds in accordance with Master Policy coverage by analyzing and reviewing borrower’s loan history, MSRP/NADA valuations, appraisals, and primary carrier’s coverage documentation.
• Refer non‑payable claims to the insurance carrier, as necessary, and complete appropriate documentation for each file.
• Enter all payments for settlements, expenses, and fees in the claims system.
• Resolve lender or borrower claim questions regarding claim status and resolution.
• Maintain an effective claims management diary to ensure all claims are handled promptly.
• Produce claim activity reports for management.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing similar duties.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic 10‑key calculator touch skills.
• Ability to use basic office equipment, including copy machine, personal computer, and fax.
• Typing speed of 45 WPM.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Ability to perform all required claims handling tasks.
• Self‑starter.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Texas Property & Casualty License required (or obtainable within 30 days).
• Physical requirements: able to sit for long periods while performing sedentary activities; able to stand, stoop, and kneel for long periods; able to push, pull, and lift up to 20 lbs. of files, supplies, documents, or other related items.
