Job summary

Everwise Credit Union is seeking a Payment Processor to ensure accurate posting of payments and reconciliation of checks. The role supports internal stakeholders with questions and problem solving related to department functions.

The position emphasizes daily balancing, adherence to policy and regulatory standards, and collaboration with EFT to reconcile credits and checks. A high school diploma or GED and payment processing experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Process financial transactions accurately and balance daily while meeting security guidelines.
  • Collect, open, verify and post payments in core and lending systems.
  • Research and resolve complex member inquiries regarding mortgage, installment loans or credit card payments.
  • Assist Accounting in balancing general ledger accounts.
  • Collaborate with EFT to reconcile provisional credits and checks.
  • Process foreign item checks from branches.
  • Post trustee collections payments from bankruptcy attorneys and process reversals from third-party vendors.
  • Reconcile ATM and ITM deposited checks.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for Everett? growth.

Position Summary:

The Payment Processor is responsible for the accurate and timely posting of payments and the reconciliation of checks. The incumbent ensures the integrity of financial transactions and compliance with the Credit Union's policies and regulatory standards. The Payment Processor is a resource to internal stakeholders to assist with questions and problem solving of departmental handled functions.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Responsible for processing financial transactions accurately, balancing daily and meeting security guidelines.
  • Collects, opens, verifies and posts payments in core and additional lending systems.
  • Researches and resolving complex member inquiries concerning mortgage loans, installment loans or credit card payments.
  • Assists the Accounting department in balancing general ledger accounts.
  • Collaborates with EFT department to reconcile provisional credit and extracted checks.
  • Processing foreign item checks received from branches
  • Posts trustee collections payments from bankruptcy attorneys.Process reversals from 3rd party collections vendor.
  • Reconciles ATM and ITM deposited checks.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of Everwise.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous work experience in payment processing, customer service or related field.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Financial institution experience preferred.
