Job summary

Behavioral Health Group - BHG in Dallas seeks a Payment Posting – Reconciliation Specialist to join our accounting team. You will accurately post ERA payments, balance daily deposits, and support bank reconciliations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in medical billing and reconciliation, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

You will collaborate across departments, prepare cash reports, and identify underpayments or credits for resolution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in medical billing, coding, collections, posting, and reconciliation.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial plans.
• Advanced reconciliation and analytical skills in medical billing.
• Excel proficiency; familiarity with ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Read and interpret EOBs, HCFA, and HIPAA requirements.
• 10-key touch and keyboarding skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Process ERA payments and adjustments.
• Balance daily deposits and ensure cash reports are up to date.
• Assist with bank reconciliations and cash management.
• Resolve payment issues via research and locate missing EOBs.
• Post and reconcile insurance payments across multiple systems.
• Identify and resolve deposit or posting discrepancies.
• Prepare daily and monthly cash reports and identify underpayments/overpayments.
• Retrieve missing payment information from payers via various channels.
• Review debits/credits and take corrective actions.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting requirements.
• Participate in training and development.
