Job summary

CredSpun LLC is seeking a Payment Posting Specialist (ERA/EOB) to join its remote medical billing team. You will post ERA files and EOBs, reconcile deposits, and identify underpayments or denials in line with the contracted fee schedule.

The role requires 1+ year of medical payment posting experience, fluency with ERA/EOB documents, and meticulous, repetitive work. Prior experience with athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or Kareo is a plus.

Qualifications

• One year or more of medical payment posting experience.
• Ability to read ERAs and paper EOBs and interpret CARC/RARC and group codes.
• Experience reconciling deposits and resolving variances.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy and patience for repetitive work.

Responsibilities

• Post ERA (835) files and manual EOBs, including adjustments and patient responsibility.
• Post patient payments, refunds and recoupments correctly.
• Reconcile posted payments to bank deposits and clearinghouse reports daily.
• Compare allowed amounts to the contracted fee schedule and flag underpayments.
• Route denials and zero-pay lines to the denial team with intact reason codes.
• Move secondary balances to the next payer or to patient responsibility.
• Investigate unapplied payments and credit balances.

Payment Posting Specialist (ERA/EOB) — Remote Medical Billing

Post insurance and patient payments line by line, reconcile every deposit, and catch the underpayments and denials that a lump-sum post would hide.

Payment posting is where a practice finds out what it was actually paid. Posted carefully, line by line against the fee schedule, it surfaces underpayments, denials hidden in zero-pay lines and contractual adjustments that don't match the contract. Posted carelessly, it buries them. As a payment posting specialist you make sure the ledger tells the truth.

What you will do

• Post ERA (835) files and manual EOBs, including adjustments, patient responsibility and transfers
• Post patient payments, refunds and recoupments correctly
• Reconcile posted payments to bank deposits and clearinghouse reports every day
• Compare allowed amounts to the contracted fee schedule and flag underpayments
• Route denials and zero-pay lines to the denial team with the reason codes intact
• Move secondary balances to the next payer or to patient responsibility
• Investigate unapplied payments and credit balances

What you need

• Experience reconciling deposits and resolving variances
• Accuracy and patience with detailed, repetitive work

Helpful, not required

Experience posting in athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, AdvancedMD, Tebra / Kareo or Open Dental, and handling Medicare crossover and secondary payments.
