Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a MOT Lead to supervise the setup and takedown of all traffic control devices and maintain MOT operations for project sites. This on-site role focuses on safety, compliance with MUTCD/FDOT standards, and successful team leadership.

You will coordinate with project managers, oversee MOT team members, and ensure proper device setup, maintenance, and removal, working day/night shifts as needed to meet project demands.>

Qualifications

• Requires MOT supervisor experience and advanced MOT certification.
• Knowledge of FDOT and MUTCD standards is required.
• Ability to follow verbal instructions and adapt to different team members.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Safety policies and report accidents or near misses.
• Supervise and ensure a safe work environment per Middlesex Safety Policies.
• Lead daily safety talks and toolbox talks.
• Develop and maintain maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans with project managers.
• Set up and dismantle traffic control devices (cones, barricades, signage, lane closures).
• Identify hazards and maintain a safe on-site environment for the team.
• Oversee MOT team members and ensure compliance with standards.

Position Summary

The MOT Lead is responsible for supervising and ensuring the proper set up and take down of alltraffic control devices, as well as maintaining the setup for the duration of the job for all MOT personnel.

Responsibilities:

• Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
• Supervise and ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all Middlesex Safety Policies and Procedures
• Present daily huddles, weekly Toolbox Talks and safety talks
• Develop and implement maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans in coordination with project managers.
• Set up and dismantle traffic control devices such as cones, barricades, signage, and temporary lane closures.
• Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
• Supervision of all MOT Team Members
• Ensure all MOT setups comply with local, state, and federal safety standards (e.g., MUTCD guidelines).
• Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day/night shift work with extended hours when necessary
• Ensure proper set up, maintenance and removal of all traffic controls

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a MOT supervisor
• MOT advanced certification
• Knowledge of FDOT and MUTCD standards
• Able to follow verbal instructions
