Qualifications

  • Ability to calculate truck cycle times, production rates, and haul requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee trucking operations for civil construction projects.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Coordinate daily trucking operations to achieve production goals.
  • If sick, notify your Superintendent a minimum of 2 hours prior to designated start time.
  • Coordinate daily trucking operations to support paving, milling, grading, and material haul operations.
  • Review daily production goals with the Superintendent to ensure proper truck counts, haul routes, and staging areas are established prior to start.
  • Communicate with Dispatch to ensure proper number and type of trucks are assigned and adjust throughout the shift based on production needs.
  • Monitor loading and unloading operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and compliance with weight regulations.
  • Ensure all drivers follow safe hauling practices and company policies including PPE requirements and job site traffic patterns.
  • Verify truck tickets, haul quantities, and material deliveries daily and reconcile with production reports.
  • Complete and submit daily trucking reports accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with drivers, subcontractors, Superintendents, Project Managers, and plant personnel.
  • Conduct Weekly Toolbox Talks and submit documentation to the Safety Department.
  • Ensure all drivers complete Daily Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and that any mechanical issues are immediately reported to the Shop Superintendent.
  • Coordinate fueling, maintenance scheduling, and equipment cleanliness.
  • Ensure all trucks are parked safely and staged in accordance with job site safety requirements and clear zone standards.
  • Verify subcontractor trucking time and tickets daily—MUST PRINT NAME and ensure legibility.
  • Monitor driver performance and address issues promptly in coordination with Operations Manager. Suspensions may occur if necessary; terminations are handled by Senior Management only.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Trucking Foreman provides direct oversight and coordination of trucking operations to support paving, milling, grading, and heavy civil construction projects. This position ensures trucks are dispatched, loaded, and cycled safely and efficiently to maintain production goals while upholding our Number One Core Value

Responsibilities
  • Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all company, state, and federal regulations including DOT requirements.
  • Maintain good health status with the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. and flexibility to bend, push, pull, stoop and/or twist.
