Job summary

Granite Construction Company is seeking an experienced estimator for asphalt paving projects. The role involves regional coordination, collaborating with field teams, developing customer relationships, and owning the custom paving pipeline end-to-end.

You will analyze data, review drawings, and work with Senior/Chief Estimator to ensure accurate, competitive bids while maintaining safety and quality standards on job sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent related work experience.
• 2+ years of Engineer or Take-Off Technician experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office and estimating tools.
• Understanding of civil engineering and construction principles.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with DBE/UDbe requirements.

Responsibilities

• Comprehend and administer a safety program.
• Create and promote environmental compliance within operations.
• Maintain quality culture and customer satisfaction.
• Analyze and compile estimate data considering labor, materials, and equipment.
• Review drawings and site conditions for final estimates.
• Discuss alternatives with senior estimators to improve bid competitiveness.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and data checks.
• Present estimates to senior estimators for review.
• Participate in bid reviews to develop estimating skills.
• Communicate bid information to field operations during pre-construction.
