Job summary

The State of Colorado is seeking a Transportation Maintenance III within the Air National Guard Civil Engineering unit. You will manage the Pavement and Grounds Shop, directing eight personnel, and oversee tasks from road patching to airfield maintenance, with duties across Greeley and Fort Carson facilities.

The role requires 5 years of related experience, 2 years of supervisory experience, a valid CDL-B, radio communication ability, and flexibility for shifts, overtime, and on-call coverage.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of relevant experience in facility maintenance, trades work, or grounds and pavement environment.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience in grounds and pavement environment equivalent to Transportation Maintenance II.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver License class B or higher with proper endorsements.
• Must be able to work rotating shift assignments, overtime, and on-call as needed.
• Must be able to communicate via radio with air traffic control.
• Must be willing to perform all duties of subordinates as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction and specialized highway maintenance equipment.
• Patch roads, parking areas, and airfield ramps/runways with asphalt or concrete material.
• Perform snow removal and cutting grass; apply pesticides.
• Construct and repair security fencing, signs, and striping of parking areas; assist with other departmental needs.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; repair vehicles; provide facility maintenance support to GSU units.
