Job summary

Louisiana State University is seeking a Pavement Research Facility Manager to oversee the LTRC PRF in Port Allen, LA, directing operations, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, reliable testing of pavement test machines and instrumentation.

The role combines hands-on facility leadership with project coordination, data processing, reporting, and collaboration with researchers and contractors to advance transportation testing capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering, construction management or related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in facility management or research settings.
• Master's degree preferred with 3 years of related experience.
• Leadership and management experience in teams and projects.
• Professional Engineer (PE) in transportation, structure, mechanical, geotechnical engineering or related discipline is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversees operation and management of the PRF facilities and equipment.
• Supervises personnel, data collection, maintenance, training, and safety.
• Coordinates construction of PTM test sections and field instrumentation installation.
• Prepares construction and project status reports; analyzes test data.
• Maintains inventory, tools, and documentation; procures equipment as needed.
• Provides hands-on leadership and mentors staff; performs critical tasks when needed.
