Job summary

Genex Systems is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead the team supporting the Federal Highway Administration's Long-Term Pavement Performance (LTPP) program from the Turner-Fairbank Center in McLean, VA. You will guide a multidisciplinary group of pavement engineers, database engineers, SMEs, and staff, ensuring contract deliverables and schedules are met with rigor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent) and a master's degree in engineering or management (or equivalent).
• 15 years of related experience, including at least 5 years managing large research contracts.
• Working knowledge of pavement data collection, data quality control/quality assurance and storage, engineering coordination, and special studies.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including the ability to represent the team to a federal client.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the single point of technical and administrative contact between FHWA and Genex for the LTPP contract
• Lead a multidisciplinary team of pavement engineers, database engineers, subject matter experts, and support staff
• Prepare and submit task order proposals, quarterly progress reports, Microsoft Project schedules, and all contract deliverables
• Manage staff time, travel, and budgets across firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials task orders, and flag risks early
• Coordinate with FHWA LTPP staff, other LTPP contractors, state highway agencies, and LTPP data users
• Oversee work across all LTPP task areas, including pavement data collection, data quality control and storage, engineering coordination, and special studies
• Drive continuous improvement in how the team assigns work, communicates, and monitors performance
