Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Traffic, has a full-time vacancy for a Pavement Marking Foreman I in Concord, NH. Position offers $22.50–$30.02/hour with a Trainee Status option at $21.63/hour and requires a CDL-B with endorsements.

Minimum qualifications include an equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience post-high school, and the ability to perform highway maintenance tasks, with physical requirements and 24/7 availability.

Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of 3 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class B (CDL-B) with appropriate endorsements.
• Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must meet the minimum standards as established by the hiring agency.
• Must receive a negative result on a pre-employment urinalysis drug screen in accordance with the Code of Federal Regulations and US DOT requirements.
• Must be able to lift/carry material weighing up to 50 lbs. on an intermittent basis.

Responsibilities

• Assists with hiring and training patrol crews, mechanized equipment operators, and entry-level personnel involved in highway maintenance and roadside facility operations.
• Inspects tasks to ensure quality and safety; alerts supervisor of issues and maintains harmonious working relations.
• Reviews work schedules and staffing to ensure efficient coverage; maintains records and tracking input for reporting.
• Operates 2 or 3-axle commercial trucks and tractors with loaders/backhoes and related highway equipment.
• Performs tasks under adverse conditions with exposure to high-speed traffic and hazardous environments to ensure public safety.
