Job summary

The State of New Hampshire, Department of Transportation, Bureau of Highway Maintenance – District 1, seeks a Construction Foreman for full-time on-site work at 3997 Route 302 / East Carroll, NH. The role supervises field crews, plans activities, and coordinates contractors to build, repair, and maintain state roadways and facilities.

Applicants should have equivalent education/experience and a CDL-A; drug screening and MVR checks are required. Strong leadership and safety focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience: Equivalent combination of 4 years of education and experience after completion of high school.
• Experience in maintenance and general construction with directing or supervision of crews.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License Class A (CDL-A) with appropriate endorsements.
• Pre-employment drug screening and MVR checks as required.
• Must be available 24 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Supervises assigned crews and coordinates construction activities.
• Trains subordinates on safety and proper construction practices.
• Maintains time/attendance and personnel data per department guidelines.
• Inspects work quality, cost, and adherence to plans and specs.
• Procures materials and coordinates contracts for equipment and subcontractors.
• Prepares reports on timelines, cost expenditures, and progress.
• Implements traffic control with officials for site safety.
• Reviews drawings and coordinates trades across disciplines.
