This full-time role performs skilled, year-round highway maintenance, operates heavy equipment, and supervises entry-level crews across the NH State Highway System. The current pay range is $17.81–$23.39 per hour, with a trainee status available at $17.19. Qualified applicants must hold a CDL-A with tank endorsement and pass a DOT drug screen.
Qualifications
Education/Experience: 1 year post-high school education/experience.
License/Certification: CDL-A with tank endorsement.
MVR: Meets minimum standards set by NH DOT.
Trainee option: CDL-B with ability to obtain CDL-A within 1 year of hire.
Pre-employment drug screen required according to DOT.
Responsibilities
Operates and maintains complex highway maintenance equipment.
Performs snow and ice removal and seasonal road treatments.
Supervises small crews and entry-level workers on maintenance projects.
Ensures safety and environmental practices per DOT policies.
Responds to traffic emergencies and adverse conditions 24/7.
