Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Working knowledge of common computer software and library systems.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail and good task prioritization.
• Accurate data entry and filing skills.
• Ability to use sound judgment and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide front-line customer service to patrons in person and by phone, assisting with library accounts and directions.
• Perform circulation and materials handling: check-in/out, shelving, notifications, and maintaining collections.
• Assist patrons with library technology and equipment including public computers and self-check kiosks.
• Support access to collections through readers’ advisory, basic reference assistance, and pulling materials for branches.
• Protect patron confidentiality and complete other duties as assigned.
