Job summary

The Washington Talking Book & Braille Library (WTBBL) is a program of the Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State. We seek a Patron Services Specialist to provide exceptional customer service, maintain patron records in KLAS, and support outreach and marketing activities.

You will assist new patrons with onboarding, manage registrations, coordinate with network libraries, and contribute to marketing materials and social media.

Qualifications

  • Three years’ full-time experience in the functional operations of a library.
  • Ability to read and write the English language.
  • Attention to detail and customer-focused service.
  • Experience with library circulation systems such as KLAS or Horizon (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Delivers high-quality, customer-focused services to a diverse patron base via in-person, phone, and electronic channels.
  • Manages patron records and profiles in the KLAS system and ensures data accuracy.
  • Designs and distributes marketing materials; posts on social media and supports outreach programs.
  • Process new patron applications within two days of receipt and assist with onboarding.
  • Collaborates with network libraries to ensure timely transfer of patron records and information.
