Job summary

The City of Victoria TX is seeking a Library Assistant I to support patrons with accounts, checkouts, and access to library resources under general supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with sign-ups, locating materials, handling overdue/damaged items, and supporting library programs; a high school diploma and a valid Texas driver’s license are required. Resume and cover letter are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to use library systems and basic office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with signing up for library cards and locating materials.
• Check out materials and help resolve overdue, damaged, and lost items.
• Process newspapers, magazines, and mail; assist with periodicals renewals.
• Plan, organize and implement patron-facing experiences, services, or programs.
• Perform related duties as required.
