Job summary

City of Mission Texas is seeking a Library Clerk to assist patrons with information and library materials, maintain shelves, and support daily library operations. The role requires daily public contact and may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends.

A background check and drug screening are required. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and some library experience; bilingual ability is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Some experience in library functions preferred.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
• Applicant will be subject to a background investigation and drug/placement screening.
• Must have a valid Class C driver license with limited moving violations.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons in accessing information and library materials.
• Follow library rules, policies and procedures.
• Input/check/verify bibliographic information and repair/process materials.
• Shelve books and materials daily.
