Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. in Wheeling, WV is seeking a Patient Transport Aide to move patients between departments within the Diagnostic Services area. This role requires careful record-keeping and familiarity with RIS, as well as handling equipment safely.

40-hour work week, non-exempt, CPR certification within 90 days of hire, and a willingness to undergo patient care aide training if applicable are required. Emphasis on safety, empathy, and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate records of patient transport to and from D.S. Department.
• Utilizes RIS to properly check-in and check-out patients.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of IVAC pumps, drainage devices, catheters, restraints and oxygen tanks.
• Demonstrates proficiency with regards to stretchers/carts, wheelchairs, O2 tanks, transfer devices and personal protective equipment.
• Communicates and provides a safe environment for patients across all ages.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** :**

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Successful completion of a patient care aide- training program or equivalent.
