Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. in Wheeling, WV is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients between hospital departments, primarily within the Diagnostic Services area. You will use RIS to check patients in and out and ensure safe transport with appropriate equipment.

The role requires a High School diploma, CPR within 90 days of hire, and preferred completion of a patient care aide training program. The position involves lifting and moving patients and standing for extended periods.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients from various hospital departments to and from the Diagnostic Services Department.
  • Uses RIS to check-in and check-out patients.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of IVAC pumps, drainage devices, catheters, restraints and oxygen tanks.
  • Operates stretchers/carts, wheelchairs, O2 tanks, transfer devices and PPE safely.
  • Communicates to provide a safe environment for patients of all ages.
