Qualifications

• Healthcare experience preferred.

• Acceptable credentialing bodies include American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients and families safely throughout the medical center to support timely testing, transfers between units, and discharge.
• Transfers patients to/from carts, beds, or wheelchairs using safe equipment and techniques.
• Assists with patient lifts/moves as requested by Mercy staff.
• Documents work activities according to policy and procedure.
• Responds to patient requests and to policy in place for safety and care.
• Provides directions to visitors, patients and staff; maintains equipment in good condition.
