Job summary

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a dedicated transporter to support patient flow within the facility. You will assist with moving patients, belongings, equipment, and records between units and to discharge locations, ensuring safe handling and accurate documentation throughout shifts.

Must complete transporter training, maintain compliance with infection control and safety policies, and collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to promote timely, compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of hire.
• Proof of mandatory reporter abuse training within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients from pickup to receiving department or discharge.
• Prepare and carry out transport of patients, belongings, equipment and records.
• Assist with patient transfers using proper equipment and techniques.
• Document activities according to policy.
• Observe and report patient and family information to clinical staff.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and environment.
