Job summary

Mercy is seeking a patient transporter to move patients and equipment between departments, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics. You will use Epic to track patient locations and equipment movements, and maintain PAR levels across the facility.

Preferred candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent, at least two years of customer service, and BLS CPR/AED certification. The role demands lifting up to 50 lbs and prolonged standing/walking.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification required.
• Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment between departments within the Medical Center.
• Maintain PAR levels for equipment across locations.
• Collaborate with coworkers across departments to ensure safe, efficient patient transport.
• Use Epic software to track patient location and equipment movement throughout the facility.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to to track equipment movement throughout the facility.
