Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment between departments within the Medical Center. You will perform a range of patient-related activities, prioritize safety, and use proper body mechanics.

You will track patient location and equipment movement in Epic, support a collaborative healthcare team, and adhere to safety and quality standards. A High School diploma, BLS certification, and two years of customer service are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification preferred.
• Two years of customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment to and from departments within the Medical Center.
• Ensure patient safety and proper body mechanics at all times.
• Maintain PAR levels for equipment across locations.
• Use Epic software to track patient location and equipment movement.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to track equipment movement throughout the facility.

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
