Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients and equipment within the Medical Center and support multiple departments. You will train new coworkers on transport processes and Epic software usage, ensuring safety and proper body mechanics at all times.

Responsibilities include maintaining PPE, tracking patient and equipment movement, and providing reliable support across Mercy locations while upholding service standards and teamwork with colleagues.

Qualifications

  • One year transporting experience.
  • Two years customer service experience.
  • Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED).
  • Physical demands: lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, and mobility requirements as described.

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients and equipment between departments.
  • Train new coworkers on Transport processes and Epic usage.
  • Ensure patient safety and proper body mechanics at all times.
  • Maintain PPE and PAR levels across Mercy locations.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Trains new co-workers on all aspects of the Transport process. Ensures Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout Mercy. Regularly wears personal protective equipment (PPE). Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient’s location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to track patient and equipment movement throughout the facility. Trains new co-workers to operate Epic correctly. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and guiding principles and Mercy Service Standards. Performs all other duties as assigned.
