Job summary

Mercy is seeking a patient transporter to move patients and equipment safely throughout the Medical Center. You will follow proper body mechanics, assist with patient-related tasks, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure smooth workflows.

The role requires BLS certification, high school diploma or equivalent, and at least two years of customer service experience, with an emphasis on teamwork and safety.

Qualifications

• Two years customer service experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (CPR and AED) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients and equipment between departments.
• Assist with patient-related activities as assigned.
• Maintain PAR levels for equipment across locations.
• Collaborate with coworkers within and across departments.
• Use Epic software to track patient location and equipment movement.

Transports patients and equipment to and from various departments within the Medical Center. Performs various patient related activities, as assigned. Patients are transported in a safe manner and proper body mechanics are utilized at all times. Maintains PAR levels for equipment in various locations throughout the Medical Center. Continuously shows the ability to work well with other co-workers (both within the Patient Transportation Department and other departments). Uses Epic software to track each patient's location as they travel to and from designated areas throughout the facility. Uses Epic software to track equipment movement throughout the facility.
