Job summary

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) in Peoria, IL is hiring a full-time Patient Transport Technician to ensure compassionate, safe transfers of adults with behavioral health needs between facilities. The role supports the IPT team and hospitals across the state with variable shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and pass a drug screen. Two years of full-time transportation or direct care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Illinois driver’s license required.
• Drug screen must be passed.
• Two years of full-time experience preferred in transportation or health care.
• Intro to mental health training within six months.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patients during transport as assigned.
• Provide de-escalation and aggression prevention as needed.
• Escort patient and belongings to and from the vehicle.
• Ensure accuracy of company and patient paperwork.
• Maintain vehicle equipment and inventory per check-off sheets.
• Comply with traffic laws and safe driving practices.
