Job summary

Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is hiring a full-time Patient Transport Technician in Springfield. You will ensure compassionate, safe transfers for adult behavioral health patients between facilities and support IPT operations across Illinois.

Expect variable shifts and weekend rotations with time past scheduled end times. Responsibilities include supervising patients, de-escalation, assisting with escorting patients and belongings, and maintaining paperwork and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Illinois Driver’s license required.
• Ability to pass post-offer physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patients during transportation.
• Provide de-escalation and aggression prevention when needed.
• Assist facility staff in escorting patient to/from vehicle.
• Complete company and patient paperwork accurately.
• Maintain equipment and supplies per check-off sheets.
• Maintain professional appearance and attitude at all times.

AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients and families across the state.This role is based in Springfield and will work variable shifts/hours during the week and alternating weekends. Please be aware that transports are assigned throughout the scheduled shift hours.
