Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) in Peoria, IL is hiring a full-time Patient Transport Technician to ensure compassionate, safe transfers of adults with behavioral health needs between facilities. The role supports the IPT team and hospitals across the state with variable shifts.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and pass a drug screen. Two years of full-time transportation or direct care experience is preferred.

Now hiring for Full-time Patient Transport Technician in Peoria!Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) is the premier provider of emergency and scheduled ambulance and patient transport services in Central and Western Illinois, as well as parts of Iowa. AMT is a private, not-for-profit organization operated for community benefit.As a patient transport technician, you will be responsible for ensuring compassionate, safe and efficient transfer between facilities for adult behavioral health patients. You will be part of the Illinois Patient Transfer, or IPT, team supporting hospitals, patients and families across the state.This role is based in Peoria and will work variable shifts/hours. Please be aware that transports are assigned throughout the scheduled shift hours. It is common for technicians in this role to work well-past their scheduled shift end times.Job Duties: This list may not include all the duties assigned.1. Supervision of all patients as assigned to his/her for transportation.2. Provide de-escalation techniques and aggression preventative strategies when necessary.3. Assist the healthcare facility staff in escorting the patient and their belongings to and from the vehicle at both originating and receiving facilities.4. Assure the accuracy and completeness of all company and patient contact paperwork.5. Be responsible for all equipment and supplies as specified on company vehicle check-off sheets and inventory requirements.6. Maintains current, State of Illinois driver’s license according to provisions set forth by the Illinois Secretary of State and Department of Motor Vehicles.7.
