• Transports inpatients and outpatients between hospital departments using wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or escort as appropriate.
• Receives and documents transport information from the patient tracking system or dispatcher.
• Ensures patient safety by checking armband, chart, seatbelts, and guarding rails during transport.
• Assists patients transferring from bed to wheelchair or stretcher and documents completion.
• Signs patient on and off nursing units during transport; participates in Quality Improvement Plan.
