Job summary

Memorial Health System is seeking a dedicated Transporter to move patients safely between hospital departments and to vehicles on discharge. The role involves assisting patients in and out of various transport modes, handling equipment and specimens, and observing confidentiality and care standards.

The transporter will also round on departments when not actively transporting to anticipate needs, maintain timelines, and support patient and family comfort throughout procedures and transport

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic math.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients by assisting them in and out of taxis, ambulances, cars, and helicopters; moving them to and from treatment areas and operating rooms.
• Transports equipment and supplies to assigned areas; transports laboratory specimens.
• Transports deceased patients following protocols and delivers them to the morgue.
