Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Hospital Transporter to support safe patient transfers and courteous guest service across the campus. You will prepare patients for transport, communicate with nurses and dispatchers, and ensure proper use of body mechanics and safety protocols.

The role requires good English communication, CPR readiness, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds with assistance. A High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent experience.
• Must read, write and speak English.
• CPR certification should be obtained within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff by following policies.
• Prepare patients for transport and report delays or cancellations to dispatch.
• Use proper body mechanics and equipment for patient transfers with safety.
• Greet patients/guests and provide directions and assistance as needed.
• Communicate patient changes to nurses, dispatchers and ancillary staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assist in accident reports.
