Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient transport teammate who moves patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed across departments while delivering records and supplies and notifying staff of arrivals.

The role requires strict adherence to HIPAA, safety and infection control policies, plus effective communication with nursing staff to assist with special handling or isolation needs. This is a full-time role within a hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School/GED.
• Background clearances: Act 34, Act 33, Act 73, FBI Fingerprinting.
• HIPAA compliance and privacy policy familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Safely transports patients between departments using wheelchair, stretcher, or bed.
• Delivers medical records, test results, specimens, mail, supplies, equipment, medication, and gowns as requested.
• Adheres to safety and infection control policies (OSHA, PPE, hand hygiene).
• Coordinates with nursing staff for patients requiring special handling or isolation procedures.
