Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Transporter to move patients, medical records, mail, specimens and equipment within the facility. You will help ensure timely patient flow and support clinical teams.

Responsibilities include transporting inpatients and outpatients between start and destination, delivering to requesting departments via pneumatic tube, and assisting visitors as a hospital ambassador. You will maintain transport gear and uphold confidentiality and HIPAA standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Good oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.
• CPR certification is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Transports inpatients and outpatients within the facility from initial start location to the destination location.
• Delivers equipment/materials and specimens to requesting department, including use of the pneumatic tube system.
• Serves as a hospital ambassador and provides information and direction to patients and visitors.
• Ensures that transportation equipment is kept clean and in good working order.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
