Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Transporter to move patients, records, mail, specimens and equipment throughout the facility. You will transport inpatients and outpatients, deliver items via the pneumatic tube system, and assist patients and visitors with directions and information.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, confidentiality, and strong communication/organizational skills. CPR and customer service experience are preferred. Additional duties may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or 1–3 months related experience or equivalent.
• Ability to maintain the highest measure of confidentiality.
• Good oral and written communication and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Transports inpatients and outpatients within the facility from start to destination.
• Delivers equipment, materials and specimens to requesting department using pneumatic tube system.
• Serves as hospital ambassador, providing information and direction to patients and visitors.
• Keeps transportation equipment clean and in good working order.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
