Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred (acute hospital, outpatient clinic).
• Call center/dispatch center experience preferred.
• EMT certification preferred.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to use multiple computer-based programs simultaneously.
• Ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to use clinical terms and follow procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive medical transportation requests and coordinate transport through third-party vendors and dispatch assets.
• Document patient information and monitor transport progress using technology tools.
• Provide responsive, service‑oriented communication with patients and staff.
• Maintain EMTALA education to identify and mitigate risk.
• Build awareness of facility services and programs for better transport decisions.
• Enter data accurately for monitoring and reporting on calls, admissions, and transports.
• Protect patient rights and confidentiality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in staff meetings.
• Address dissatisfied customers and escalate to leadership when needed.
