Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks staff to provide patient-centered meal delivery, transport, and nourishment support. The role includes coordinating with nursing and nutrition staff, assisting patients and guests with menu choices, delivering meals including Kosher options, and maintaining patient charts.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and up to one year of experience. This is an on-site role within Mount Sinai’s facilities.

Qualifications

High School graduate or GED required.
0-1 year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Advises patient of diet changes and menu selections with nursing/nutrition.
Assists patient and guest with menu selection.
Daily delivery of newspapers and magazines.
Damps and sanitizes surfaces as needed.
Delivers meals to patient rooms, including Kosher Kitchen meals, with appropriate table linen.
Escorts ambulatory patients to and from areas outside the unit.
Replenishes nourishment for patients as needed.
Maintains patient charts and releases charts to authorized personnel.
Ensures patient is ready for meal delivery in coordination with nursing.
Offers patient appropriate menus after consulting with nursing/nutrition.
Spot cleans walls, windows, furniture, and other items.
Stocks deliveries to the floor as requested.
Transports patients on a stretcher or wheelchair and transports patient belongings.
Provides requested items such as linens and unit literature.
