Job summary

Mount Sinai Health System seeks a patient transport and meal service associate to support patient care in our New York facilities. You will assist with diet-related needs, menu selection, and daily meal delivery, ensuring proper setup and coordination with nursing staff.

This role involves transporting patients, escorting guests, and stocking nourishment as per dietary guidelines. A High School diploma or GED and 0–1 year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED.
• 0-1 year experience.
• Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSH.

Responsibilities

• Advise patient of diet changes with nursing/nutrition coordination.
• Assist patient with menu selections.
• Deliver newspapers and magazines daily.
• Dampen and sanitize surfaces as needed.
• Deliver meals including kosher kitchen, with proper setup.
• Escort ambulatory patients within and outside the unit.
• Stock nourishing items per patient diet requests.
• Manage patient charts while off the unit and release to authorized staff.
• Coordinate with nursing to prepare patient for meal delivery.
• Offer additional menu options after nursing/nutrition consultation.
• Spot clean walls, windows, and furniture as needed.
• Stock floor deliveries as requested.
• Transport patient on stretcher or wheelchair.
• Move patient belongings to and from the unit.
• Provide linens and related items as needed.
