Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from nursing units and ancillary departments.
• Verify patient identity and readiness before transport; ensure equipment is secure.
• Maintain clear, compassionate communication with patients, families, and healthcare team; provide hand-off reports.
• Follow universal precautions, HIPAA regulations, and safety guidelines for patient safety and equipment handling.
• Assist nursing units with delegated tasks and orient new staff when needed.
• Respect patient privacy, dignity, and cultural needs during transportation.
